FAQ

Can I defer or transfer my race entry?

1. Transfer to a friend - Should you not be able to attend then you will be able to transfer your race ticket over to someone else so long as you do it within one week of the event.

2. Defer to another event - You can request to defer your race ticket over to another DRS event. So long as you do it before race week. Please note there is a small admin fee of £5.00 for deferral.

3. ***Important*** - Please Note you will not be able to defer your race ticket over to another DRS event during race week. Any requests after this time will not be accepted or processed.

4. Entry fees cannot be refunded under any circumstances.

What time do the races start?

Races start at 10am. The 30k (Dirty 30) will start 9:30am sharp. Try to get there 45-60 minutes  before to allow for registration and traffic etc.

What are the age restrictions?

13 year olds can run so long as they are accompanied by an adult/parent/guardian at all times throughout the race

When will I receive the event information?

You will receive your event details immediately upon your ticket purchase via email. We will also resend the details in another email a week before the event to remind you.

Do you have a bag drop?

Not a bag drop, we have a key drop so you’ll be able to leave your key with us when you’re out racing and pick it up again when you’re finished. Our car parks are usually right next to registration so it’s not a long walk at all

Do you have changing facilities?

You don’t have to go home mucky! There are water hose pipes available at the finish line to wash you down! We also have on-site loos available for those pre-race nerves!

Do I have to be fit?

You don’t have to be ‘super fit’ or an elite runner to do a DRS event, you’ll be able to go at your own pace so running, jogging or walking is fine, you’ll also be spurred on by our amazing Marshall’s throughout the race too!

What should I wear?

Wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Try to avoid cotton if you can. All our race routes are of extreme terrain so OCR trail shoes are a must to help you grip in the mud

What should I do afterwards?

You are going to be wet, muddy & “hangry” when you finish so try to get changed into some dry clothes as soon as possible. We have water hose pipes available at the finish line you can use to wash off any mud! Then grab some refreshments in our event village right away. The sooner you change into dry clothes the sooner you’ll start warming up

Do I have to do all the natural obstacles in your races?

A few of the ponds out on course may require a 10-20m swim but don’t worry, if you’re not a confident swimmer our awesome Marshalls will have some noodles & floats you can use to help you across.

If you decide to not do the swim crossings out on course then no problem there will be a short running penalty loop to do which will take slightly longer to complete than the swim crossings.

Is there a cut-off time for the Dirty 30?

The 30K is a an approximate distance. It is 1 lap of the 10k route, then 2 loops of the 5K route & then athletes will finish off with 1 final lap of the 10k route.

This will be the athletes responsibility & reiterated on the start line. Think 10,5,5,10. Write it on your hand if needed. If you forget or do the loops in the wrong order it will be classed as a DNF.

Cut off time to start final lap is 1:30pm. Athletes who have not started their final lap by 1:30pm will not be allowed to continue.

If you do decide halfway through the Dirty 30 to change to 1 or 2 laps then that’s fine, you won’t be in the 10k results as that’s a separate race & distance but YES, you will STILL get a finishers medal for being awesome!
